Energy Innovation Co-operative Ltd.’s Southern CORE Fund supports community groups to install renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, helping them cut power bills and reduce carbon emissions.
Community groups apply for no-interest loans to pay for energy upgrades. Interest-free loans are paid back to the Fund from energy savings, becoming available to support the next group’s project. Each donation is invested over and over again! Donations of $2 and over to the Energy Innovation Co-operative Public Fund, of which the Southern CORE Fund is a component, are tax deductible.
In 2018 we extended this offering beyond South Gippsland and Bass Coast, into the Latrobe Valley and beyond. We will supplement support with small grants to the most-in-need communities as the Fund builds.
